This Privacy Policy explains how Zeno Technologies ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when merchants install or use our Shopify apps.
This policy applies to both AI Blog Writer - Autopilot and AI Semantic Search, including each app's embedded Shopify admin surfaces, app configuration tools, automated workflows, support forms, and related operational services.
Information We Collect
Information from Shopify APIs
When a merchant installs or uses one of our apps, we access only the Shopify permissions needed to provide that app's features. Depending on the app and features used, this may include:
- Shop information, such as the myshopify.com domain and installation/session details.
- Shopify staff or account session information made available during authentication, such as name, email address, locale, account owner status, collaborator status, and session verification details.
- Store content information, including blogs, articles, article metadata, and content needed to create, edit, schedule, or publish blog posts.
- Product information selected or loaded by the merchant, including product IDs, titles, handles, descriptions, product types, vendors, tags, featured images, product images, variants, SKUs, prices, and selected options.
- Collection, product option, tag, vendor, product type, inventory, and catalog information needed to power search, filters, synonyms, pinned products, merchandising, and storefront search configuration.
- Shopify Files information needed to upload and use blog images generated or selected through the app.
Our apps do not request access to payment information, checkout data, or customer account passwords. The apps are designed for merchant-side content, catalog, and search workflows, not buyer profile management.
Blog creation and publishing data
Merchants may provide information directly in the app, including blog topics, keywords, writing instructions, selected products, publishing preferences, scheduled publishing times, Autopilot settings, and support ticket information.
Search, filter, and catalog data
For AI Semantic Search, merchants may configure or generate search queries, filter selections, synonym rules, pinned products, and merchandising settings. We may also process product catalog data, search configuration, zero-result search information, and app analytics needed to improve product discovery inside the merchant's store.
Generated and usage information
We may store generated blog drafts, SEO scores, SEO recommendations, blog metadata, generated image URLs, Shopify article IDs, job status, timestamps, result data, Autopilot run history, usage counts, plan type, and operational logs.
For AI Semantic Search, we may store app configuration, indexing status, sync status, search and filter settings, synonym and pinning history, analytics summaries, error logs, and operational timestamps.
Information from Third-Party Services
To provide app features, we may send relevant merchant-provided and Shopify-provided content to service providers, including AI providers for content, image, semantic search, or relevance features; search or public web research providers where used for blog research; and hosting, database, security, monitoring, and infrastructure providers used to operate the apps.
How We Use Information

- Load Shopify products, images, blogs, articles, and files needed for blog generation and publishing.

- Run Autopilot campaigns and prevent duplicate or excessive automated posting.
- Index product catalog information and keep search/filter data synchronized.

We do not sell merchant data or buyer personal data.
Customer and Buyer Data
AI Blog Writer - Autopilot is designed for merchant-side blog creation and does not require access to buyer profiles, orders, checkout data, payment data, or customer account data.
AI Semantic Search is designed to improve storefront product discovery. It may process search terms, filter interactions, and product discovery analytics, but it is not designed to collect buyer payment data, checkout data, or customer account passwords.
We do not sell buyer personal information. We do not use buyer activity to build unrelated advertising profiles.
Data Sharing
We may share information with Shopify as required to operate the apps, service providers that host or support the apps, AI and search providers used to generate content or power search features, and legal or security recipients if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use merchant data to build unrelated products or unrelated advertising profiles.
Data Retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the app, maintain merchant workflows, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and support legitimate business operations.
Merchants may request deletion of app-held information by contacting us using the details below.
Data Location and International Transfers
We may process and store information in countries outside the merchant's country or region, including the United States and other locations where our service providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information processed by the app. These include HTTPS/TLS for data in transit, Shopify OAuth-based authentication, restricted access to production systems, and operational controls for secrets and infrastructure.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Merchant Rights and Requests
Depending on location and applicable law, merchants and individuals may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of personal information.
Shopify Privacy Webhooks
We subscribe to Shopify's required privacy webhook topics where applicable. Because our apps are not designed to store buyer profile, order, payment, or checkout information, most customer data requests are expected to have no buyer profile data stored by the apps unless a merchant manually provided that information in free-text fields or support messages.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide notice in the app or through another reasonable method.
